Guidelines, Standards, and Registration

Temple Beth Am Religious School strives to create an environment and a community which cares about each individual student. New students will be assigned to classes based on their age and corresponding school grade. In order to receive the full benefit from class, it is essential that students attend regularly and be prepared to participate fully in class. Because our students have a limited number of classroom hours and we want to use the time to its fullest, we urge parents to get their children to class on time.

Progress reports are distributed two times per year to give students and parents feedback and to initiate improvement where necessary. When homework is given, it will be meaningful and realistic. Our 3rd - 6th graders are expected to practice Hebrew for a few minutes several times a week, in order to successfully retain information learned in class.

Parents are welcome to visit classrooms before and after school as often as they wish. Arrangements for visiting class while in session need to be made with the Director of Education or Assistant Director of Education in advance. It is important that Temple Beth Am be a place where everyone feels safe, where each individual is respected, and where the temple and its grounds are treated with respect. Temple Beth Am has a full emergency plan that is provided to the teachers at their orientation. Temple Beth Am also employs professional security guards who patrol the campus during Religious School.
