Simchat Torah

SimchatTorah2012Dancing Simchat Torah is truly a time to rejoice in the Torah and celebrate with our community. This evening service begins as we consecrate our new students as they stand on the bimah under tallesim (prayer shawls) held by teachers and leaders. We then joyfully dance with the Torah while the KlezKidz play lively tunes, and then we hold up the Torah as it is completely unrolled and the final verses of D'varim (Deuteronomy) and first lines of B'reishit (Genesis) are read. We then wrap up with root beer floats for everyone!
